The oral translator is best known as a interpreter, and can be classified into the following categories:<\/p>\n

Simultaneous interpreter<\/h2>\n

These translators are the bridge between a speaker (original language) and an audience (target language). Their job is to listen to a speaker giving a message and instantly translate that message to the language spoken by the audience, sometimes with just a word of delay.<\/p>\n

In this type of oral translation, the speaker does not stop talking, and that is to say, he speaks as if he were addressing an audience that understands his language.<\/p>\n

The simultaneous interpretation work requires immense mental effort, and that’s why this work is usually performed by a pair of interpreters who take turns every 20 minutes. Simultaneous interpreters need specialized booths for this kind of work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Consecutive interpreter<\/h2>\n

In this type of translation the speaker stops talking regularly, so that the oral translator interprets the spoken message into the target language.<\/p>\n

If you compare simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, simultaneous interpretation is obviously much more difficult. Consecutive interpreters do not require specialized equipment. Usually, they just need a micro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
